Members of Ahavath Torah:
The process has begun for the “Data Collection Committee,” who were appointed by the President, to canvas the members of the Board of Trustees for their “input” regarding the renewal, or nonrenewal, of Rabbi Poupko’s contract. The data collected by this committee will be presented to the Board at their June 2, 2022, meeting, at which time the Board will vote (quoting from the notice to Board members) “on a recommendation to provide to the membership as to whether CAT should renew Rabbi Poupko’s employment contract”.
It is imperative that you contact the members of the Board of Trustees now and offer your support for Rabbi Poupko, and not just for a renewal of his contract but also for a longer period than the three- year terms offered to him in the past. I would suggest that in these telephone calls and/or emails you offer up personal stories of Rabbi Poupko’s and Shoshana’s acts of kindness, care, guidance and inspiration to you, your family and fellow members of our community. These messages of support are crucially important.
I would ask that in these communications, the message be given respectfully and courteously, as they are reflections of all the people we are standing behind, Rabbi and Shoshana Poupko.
I thank you so much for your assistance in ensuring that the values and kindness exemplified by Rabbi and Shoshana Poupko, and by our Englewood community, be continued in the future.
