A former diplomat has demanded that Australia begins trade talks with the UK as soon as possible to reduce visa restrictions between the two countries. Georgina Downer, a fellow at the Institute of Public Affairs, reiterated that there has been a decline in the number of Australians living and working in the UK because of limitations on non-EU migrants, but a free trade deal between the two countries would seek to grant more reciprocal living & working rights for British and Australian citizens.
