Parental alienation is not simply “co parenting conflict.” It is a pattern of psychological abuse and emotional manipulation that damages the bond between a child and a loving parent.

Children should never be used as weapons, leverage, messengers, or tools for revenge in family court disputes. When a child is conditioned to fear, reject, or resent a parent without legitimate cause, the emotional harm can last a lifetime.

It is common in alienating dynamics for the manipulative parent to speak through the child, turning the child into a messenger, a puppet for false or distorted narratives. These claims are often not rooted in lived history or actual facts, but are instead amplified through isolation, coercion, threats, and punishment if the child does not repeat what the alienating parent wants them to say.

The tactics shown include denying the relationship between the child and the other parent, badmouthing the other parent, blocking communication, gatekeeping and withholding access, manipulating the child, creating false narratives, using the legal system as a weapon, isolating the child from family and support, financial control and abuse, intimidation and threats, and emotional abuse.
These behaviors often lead to child confusion, loyalty conflicts, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and damaged relationships.

Parental alienation is child abuse. Under the Family Law Act, behaviors such as coercion, intimidation, isolation, and emotional abuse are recognized forms of family violence. Children deserve protection, healthy parent-child relationships, accountability, reform, and justice.
