I hope this message finds you well,
The Keep Streets Live Campaign's ongoing work to oppose Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs have seen fines of up to £1000 and criminal records given for busking/sleeping in public places/riding bikes/pavement art and other everyday activities) has been featured on BBC's One's prime time topical program 'The One Show'. I was filmed for the feature busking on the streets of Oxford which introduced a PSPO last year which was watered down thanks to your support for this campaign and another petition which opposed the proposals to criminalise rough sleeping. The feature has raised the profile of the growing movement against this authoritarian legislation, which includes Human Rights organisation Liberty and the Manifesto Club. You can watch the clip here:

Ever since the Antisocial Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 became law, the Keep Streets Live Campaign has been warning that the new powers have the potential to radically change the relationship between local authorities, the police and the people they are meant to serve by creating spurious and unnecessary new criminal offences that often unfairly target the most vulnerable in society.
Your support for our campaign in Oxford was an essential part of putting the local authority under pressure and meant that the PSPO they eventually put in place was much less onerous than it might have been. Thank you.
We are currently running an online crowdfunding campaign to enable us to fund one and a half days of paid activism a week and to campaign for open and inclusive public spaces across the country more effectively. I would be very grateful if you would consider giving it your support. Find out more via this link:
