Thank you for your attention to this matter. This is an issue that is before the planning board. As a town board member, I would not have the ability to vote on an item that is before the planning board and cannot use my position to influence the actions of the planning board.

While I hold my own personal opinions on this matter, an official statement from a town board member could potentially give the appearance that I am using my position to influence the outcome which would be most inappropriate and could open the town up to legal challenges.

I expect our planning board to do their due diligence and give careful consideration to how each project that comes before them will affect our community. I always strongly encourage members of our community to attend public meetings to learn the facts and voice their opinions on matters they find important. To avoid the appearance of undue bias, and maintain the integrity of the planning board process, I will not comment further at this time.
