Hut 8 Withdrew their rezoning permit in December of 2025.  Thank you to everyone who showed up to meetings, asked prepared questions, emailed their council member, called the Logan County Board.

Logan County shifted away from rezoning and toward writing conditional use ordinance language for data centers.

Hut 8's future application could come after those ordinance changes. The IL times also reported the earliest the county could vote on those zoning changes would likely be April or May 2026 as a moratorium is currently in place which blocks all applications for Data Center projects.

This is an informational session on the evolution of data centers presented by Mount Pulaski native and tech professional, Kelly Cubberly. There will be a Q&A session.
