Quick recap...

Thank you so much for all the signatures. It just shows the strength of feeling around the firework issues. We realise that people have different ideas of what changes they would like to see.... but frankly the choice is not ours. We can shout for a ban on sales, silent (not actually silent but quieter) fireworks, a ban on use or even a total ban on fireworks. It is the government that will decide. We CAN let them know however that we want SOME KIND OF CHANGE, because how it is at the moment....it isn't cutting it!  So what ever change you want, sign, share and encourage others. This petition is the one that has the best chance of getting to the 'govs ears'.

We have already had two petitions debated in parliament and we are NOT giving up..I would like to see 500,000 signatures by Christmas (my birthday ), I don't think they will be able to ignore half a million..

Things to do to help.

  1. Obviously sign and share... that's a given.
  2. If you see anyone on social media talking about firework issues, jump in with the petition link click here
  3. Write to your MP, they work for you. Just say it like it is... Nothing long and complicated, just how you feel or how the random fireworks affect you or yours.    writetothem.com
  4. Send the email to the Office of Product Safety and Standards that the RSPCA has written for you. Just add your name etc. Sooooo easy, - click here  OR email to OPSS.enquiries@beis.gov.uk
  5. If you have a problem with horses and fireworks please report on the BHS incident line. click here
  6. If you have a problem with your pets, contact the RSPCA for advice click here
  7. If fireworks are being used beyond the curfew, which is very broad ( can be used 7am-11pm 365 days a year. PLUS extensions to 12pm 5th Nov;  1am New Year, Diwali and Chinese New Year ) please contact the police on 101. Please ask for an incident number.
  8. By doing numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, you are adding to the official data that the government uses to make their decisions. Without that data...there is NO PROBLEM!
