Trustees could decide Albion on October 2

Hello! The next milestone in the fight to save Oak Park from Albion/Sammons is the Monday, Oct. 2 Village Board meeting at Village Hall. We have been told that the Albion proposal will be on the agenda for that meeting. The Board will be discussing the proposal, and this may be the most crucial time for them to hear from the community. Because the proposal was rejected by the Plan Commission, it will be stopped if any 3 of the trustees vote no. This is possible! The trustees could make the final decision on Albion/Sammons during the Oct. 2 meeting or at the following meeting. Regardless, this is the debate that will determine if that massive tower goes up or not. WHAT WE CAN DO: * Come to the Board meeting on Mon., Oct. 2. Village Hall. 7:15 sign up to comment; meeting convenes at 7:30. * Give a 3-minute comment about what matters most to you and to the Village, and why. Note: Even if the Board changes the agenda, you can still speak out about Albion on 10/2. * Contact any other local groups you belong to; be sure they are aware and involved. * Help gather more petition signatures, in person at the Farmers’ Market (we’ll have people there with petitions), or whatever event or spot you think will be good, or online at Change.org (link below).
