This retrospective planning is now going to Committee on 26/5/16. We have untill 12pm to make any comments on the council website especially if you live within North Hertfordshire at: http://pa.north-herts.gov.uk/online-applications/ - Ref 16/00359/1. Although the developer has withdrawn change of use he still wants the council to give retrospective planning. Our view is its a stealth movement as he is also putting in plans for interior -The council seem to be taking the view that the work carried out without permission is acceptable despite being in a Conservation Area. Conservation Areas are defined as 'areas of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance….It is the whole character of a place that gives a Conservation Area its very distinctive and special qualities. We do not feel that this development has enhanced the building or area or preserved the the qualities of the pub. Please place your views on the NHDC website as listed above. Thank You
