Watch the video above. That's Kap, on 8/29/2016, explaining WHY he protested during the National Anthem. Today, the NFL just passed a rule requiring players to STAND for the anthem while they are on the field. They include: 1. Players & NFL personnel are required to stand. 2. Personnel who choose not to stand should remain in locker room until Anthem has been performed. 3. A team will be fined if its personnel doesn't show respect for the flag & Anthem. In a nutshell, the NFL is essentially "hiding" those who want to show a symbolic gesture for what Kaep originally took a knee for: the killing of unarmed people of color by police & their tactics -- in a league that's 70% BLACK. I'm sure you're outraged by this (if you have any sense of empathy in your heart), so this is what's going to happen: "Not only will our boycott continue until Kaepernick returns, but the boycott will also continue UNITL THIS NEW POLICY GETS REVERSED." No point in further explanations here. But for those who still don't "get it", if a police officer shot you, your kid, or your loved one while unarmed and still gets PAID LEAVE/unscathed, would you feel what Kaepernick has been saying all along? If you do, then you would understand why this is updated boycott is happening. If you are looking for REAL solutions, start by adding NEW POLICIES to punish the police for killing unarmed individuals. Call your lawmakers. Make them change the law regarding that.
