I have some exciting news. Karnataka Education Minister K Suresh Kumar has told the media that he will be announcing a new programme called Swachh Shouchaya Uthama Shale (Clean Toilets Best School). This will focus on investing in school infrastructure and toilet maintenance. He is waiting for Chief Minister Yeddyurappa’s approval to this proposal.

I am 100% sure this is because of my campaign, because the Minister had promised me of action when I kept tweeting to him in November 2020. Attached is the Times of India article which quotes the Minister and me in the next paragraph.

I’m so happy that the issue of providing clean toilets in government school toilets is finally getting the traction and attention it deserves.

Huge credit for this goes to all the people who have been supporting my campaign. Many of you have been tweeting about it and sharing it in your circles. Nearly 14,000 more people signed up for this cause over the last weekend, fulfilling my wish of crossing the 50,000 signatures mark.
