Save Newcastle WildlifeNewcastle upon Tyne, ENG, Royaume-Uni
18 sept. 2015
We are crowd funding to save Woolsington Woods! We have launched a page on Just Giving where we are asking members of the public to donate money to help us reach a target of £2 million.
This princely sum will be used to fund the restoration of Woolsington Hall, meaning there will no longer be any need to destroy the woodland to restore the Grade-II listed building that has been allowed to fall into disrepair over the last 20 years.
Newcastle is privileged enough to be the only English city with a population of red squirrels and we must protect the mature woodland habitat they depend upon. If the woodland is lost, several protected species including birds, bats, badgers, otters and great crested newts could lose their home.
The page will be active for 30 days. Let’s make a positive change!
Don’t forget to sign the 38 Degrees petition to protect Freedom of Information (FOI) laws:
https://speakout.38degrees.org.uk/campaigns/protect-freedom-of-information
Without information gained from FOI requests many campaigns, including the Woolsington Woods campaign, would be severely hampered.
