A member of Save Newcastle Wildlife is standing in the upcoming City Council election. Rachel Elizabeth Locke is standing as an independent candidate in Castle Ward and will be calling for greater respect, protection and enhancement of the local environment, for people and wildlife. Since 2015 she has led several campaigns under Save Newcastle Wildlife and recognises the need for people in local government to champion the natural environment. The environmental, social and economic benefits of nature and green space are essential to the success of any city.
