Although we have been advised the application for 1,200 houses adjacent to Havannah Nature Reserve will go before committee on Friday 15th December, this has not yet been confirmed. There are still several significant issues with the application, which must be addressed before a decision can be made. Planning committee meetings are public meetings, but are generally held when the majority of the public are working and, thus, unable to attend. Given the level of public interest in this application, we have requested an evening meeting to enable interested parties to attend. We have submitted further objections to the council, relating to amendments to the application on the grounds that the proposed development constitutes: 1. Unlawful interpretation of Green Belt Policy and substantial harm to Green Belt 2. Unlawful development of Cell B1 and substantial harm to biodiversity 3. Unlawful planning procedure through addition of new proposals to an existing application If you haven't already objected to the plans, please do so as soon as possible by emailing adam.nilsson@newcastle.gov.uk, quoting planning application 2017/0666/01/OUT.
