Update

In New Hampshire, as it turns out, there is no statewide or government child protective service. DCYF is privately owned and stays away from families with money to avoid being sued. They leave children with their abusers and don't actually have the power to remove them from an abusive situation. Not only that, but they can only talk to the child with the parent's permission and if the parent requires that they are in the room, the child cannot speak freely to defend themselves. Abused children and teens in New Hampshire have no protection. My friend deals with abuse and was recently choked by her mother, but because there were no marks she was told she had no grounds to say that her parents had dangerous and unhealthy ways of handling their anger. She was called a liar and told nothing was going to change, even though I know for a fact she was not lying. I've seen the proof, but quite honestly her caseworker is not there to help her, even though that's her job. There are no shelters that can take her because her parents will call the police. They have stated several times that they hate her and no longer consider her family. This is about control with them. They want to have all of the control over her life. They've taken her money, gave her phone she paid $380 for to her sister, and sold the car she paid $1,700 for because she bought it from them but never got the title switched. She will never see that money either. She goes "home" every day scared for her life. She has an anxiety disorder so bad that she passes out constantly and her depression worsens with every event. If her stepdad doesn't kill her, she might do it herself. I'm scared for her and the many teens in New Hampshire like her. Why doesn't New Hampshire care about the children and teens that are suffering?
