Millions of trees are still at risk - and we have just weeks to save them. Last month, after over 100,000 of you signed my petition to make them stop, the Government intervened and made them pause their tree felling operation during bird nesting season - but that’s nearly over, meaning the chainsaws will start up again in August. Even during the pause there were press reports of Network Rail contractors blatantly ignoring the government order and continuing to fell and destroy trees in certain areas. But when nesting season is over they will be able to resume wiping out as many trees as they can. The Government have stated they’re conducting a review into Network Rail’s ‘vegetation management’, but by the time it comes out they may have already destroyed thousands more trees. This ruthless act not only impacts the beauty of our outdoor spaces but more importantly is affecting the habitat of birds, bats, butterflies, bees and a whole range of other animals and insects. Network Rail can’t just go around hacking at our beautiful wildlife and not be held to account. Please Sign and Share this petition as widely as you can to help put pressure on Network Rail and the Government to #StopTheChop-
