Update - 18th June 2018 Network Rail and their contractors are still chopping down healthy trees in JUNE; day and night, behind government backs. They are planning to carry on the mass tree destruction all summer into august and onward and are defying all the calls to cease the carnage. This is despite the government intervention and ministers calls to stop it. THIS IS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO GOVERNMENT, THE PUBLIC AND NATURE. It is the bird nesting and wildlife breeding season and network rail are still continuously destroying and evicting the birds, bats, insects and wildlife from their resident tree and vegetation habitats, homes and sanctuary… so that they can never return. ..All this, despite a government investigation into network rail and their contractors, highly destructive indiscriminate mass tree felling and de-vegetation framework activities. The Government say they are looking into Network Rail's tree and vegetation management policy, but the destruction still continues! The Government say they will report back 'in the summer', but there is no set date. We want a specific timescale for when the report will be published and ‘Changes’ put in place to outlaw and stop Network Rail’s continuous tree and habitat carnage. Tell Government to stop Network Rail chopping down trees ‘PERMANENTLY’ using the hashtag #StopTheChop.
