The Shooting Show hosted by the NEC is only a few weeks away.  Let's take a closer look at the Exhibitors and see exactly what they are promoting there.

Amongst other things they are also offering courses to Scout Groups, Cadets and Youth Organisations teaching them how to use AIR GUNS!!!

The RSPCA is calling for the licensing of Air Guns since nearly 100 animals have been shot, badly injured and even killed in different parts of the country in a NEWS ARTICLE as well as mandatory licensing, the RSPCA wants a range of measures to tackle the problem.

Dermot Murphy, RSPCA chief inspectorate officer, said: "Animals are suffering horrendous injuries and often dying as a result of air gun attacks and these weapons are also potentially extremely dangerous for people".

As well as Gun Sales,  within the article tab there's articles on Squirrel, Rabbit & Duck shooting, Guinea Fowl and Geese shooting, Dove shooting (not UK) and a video of a Hare shooting.

This company supports the killing of Grey Squirrels believing that by hunting and killing the Grey the Red Squirrel will be saved.  They support the Staffordshire Squirrel Project (SSP) by supplying hunting rifles to volunteers.

In recent RESEARCH  there is little evidence to suggest that the mass hunting and killing of Grey Squirrels will help with the conservation of the Red Squirrel.  In fact research has shown that the planting of Yew Trees is a much more humane way of SUSTAINING  the Red Squirrel population.

Red Squirrels would still be in their masses if they were not hunted to near extinction in the 19th & 20th century they were known as a pest just like the Grey is now with that and deforestation surely lessons should now be learned.

Promoting the killing of beautiful Pheasants, Partridge and Grouse for fun.

Wild boar hunts. Their position on hunting:‘SWAROVSKI OPTIK supports hunting if it is carried out sustainably, responsibly, legally, and in harmony with nature’. SWAROVSKI OPTIK is active in three target groups: hunting, birding and outdoor.

There’s an article in the blog about shooting and eating venison. There’s even a recipe they share on there.

The above companies are just a few that are exhibiting at the NEC promoting the killing of wildlife with guns, hunting knives, traps and snares.  Desensitising the young by teaching them it is ok to kill animals for fun.

Is this acceptable in todays society?  I think NOT

Please continue to support the petition by sharing and letting people know what this outdated show is all about.  Help us get this show cancelled at the NEC for good.

Thank you to Kez for her help with research.
