Several years ago, television screens tuned to PBS Kids Sprout to watch the biggest programming block character get-together for a big Christmas spectacular. Miles and Banjo from The Let's Go Show, Patty, Ricky, and Curtis E. Owl from the Sprout Sharing Show, Chica and the Sunny Side Up Show hosts, Mr. Mailman, the Sprout Diner family, and Coo the Cuckoo Bird took the stage in a pop-up storybook read by Nina and Star, and even got their own musical numbers. That show was not only the biggest Christmas special on Sprout, but it involved stick puppets because everyone couldn’t be in the studio at the same time. Preschoolers could make their own stick puppets from printable coloring pages on the Sprout website. In 2009, the special became "Two Sticks" and The Wiggles were now included in two numbers - "Holiday Feast" and "Nothing Better."
The show was great, but very few people actually recorded the show when it came on, although songs were available on iTunes and Sproutonline.com. But still, the show went on as being a remembered special for those who saw it. We have to convince NBCUniversal to bring the Preschool Musical back for a re-airing or even on Peacock.
