One of the panda lovers received this reply from USDA, which I want to post here, as it can explain why Memphis Zoo can do what it do and get away with it. 

Everyone following panda cam knows that Yaya and Lele IS NOT receiving seven types of bamboo. Basically it's all a money game. The USDA delegates most of the inspection to AZA, who is funded by their members, aka businesses like Memphis Zoo. Beneath the shiny slogan, it's no different from a membership fee at the gym. 

So even though the problem is obvious, no one have any power over Memphis Zoo's action toward Yaya and Lele. So our approach and hope now, is that Ya and Le be sent back to China when the lease is up.

Meanwhile I hope everyone will still join our FB group where we initiate complaint letters and brainstorm together.
