One of the Many Views Inside the Lighthouse Inn. How did the RIDEM allow Procaccianti - Paolino to abandon the hotel and create a health, safety, and an environmental hazard under their watch. If you or I did this to our property the State, Town, and all State Agencies would issue us a summons into court to pay fines for gross neglect and reckless endangerment. Yet, the RIDEM, is still giving Procaccianti and Paolino a month-to-month parking lot lease on the area of land they trashed, so they can make hundreds of thousands of dollars over the summer season. Why did Director Gray get reappointed unanimously by our Senate during the Senate Nomination Hearings with his department failing to prosecute and hold Procaccianti-Paolino accountable for their gross neglect? Why has the RIDEM failed to file complaints against the illegal expansion of Champlin's Marina in Block Island, when it has been determined by marine scientists and The Great Salt Pond Committee the illegal expansion of Champlin's Marina will hurt the ecosystem of The Great Salt Pond??? We all know the Marina was illegally expanded just before Procaccianti and Paolino purchased it. The RI Attorney General's Office found the expansion to be illegal. A retired court judge overruled the ruling of the RI Attorney General's Office. Now the case is being heard by the RI Supreme Court. Why does the RIDEM feel it can give a month-to-month parking lot lease on land that is not zoned for a parking lot? A special use permit was never granted by the Town of Narragansett. The RIDEM is allowing Procaccianti - Paolino violate a Town Zoning Ordinance.
