US Forest Service ignored NEPA Regulations

Luis ContrerasEureka Springs, AR, United States
Apr 4, 2015
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) ensures information on the environmental impacts of any Federal action is available to public officials and citizens, before decisions are made.
To avoid opposition, the US Forest Service requested public input prior to an Environmental Assessment (EA). How can the community make relevant comments without knowing the consequences of a complex project that will change Butler Hollow for decades?
USFS had years to prepare their plan. USFS has the obligation to explain what they want to do, the cost of the project, the funding, and the plans to maintain the results. The 2010 Chute Ridge Glades project was abandoned; 350 acres burn to the ground leaving an eyesore.
Why would USFS expect great results for Butler Hollow?
