Help Me Build Hockey Family Advocates—Two Volunteers Needed

I’m asking a couple of good people to help me build something that could make a real difference for hockey families. 🏒

When our family went through the waiver and appeal process, we felt confused, blindsided, and alone. I don’t want another parent sitting at their kitchen table wondering where to turn or what to do next.

That’s why I’m developing Hockey Family Advocates—to help parents understand registration and eligibility, prepare for waivers and appeals, and find support along the way.

We’re at the very beginning. We have our first volunteer, and I’m looking for two more people to help get the foundation in place:

• Someone comfortable with numbers who could help keep a simple budget and financial records.
• Someone who enjoys organizing who could help keep meeting notes and track our next steps.

These would be volunteer founding board roles, with a voice in shaping what we build. The workload will be light to start: a short planning conversation, a few small tasks, and a pace we agree on together. You don’t need to have all the answers or be a hockey expert.

You don’t have to take on everything. I’m asking you to take on one small piece alongside me.

Our goal is to have support ready before next season’s registration and waiver decisions. Right now, we need dependable people who care about families and are willing to help us get started.

If that sounds like you, message me or email hockeyfamilyadvocates@gmail.com and say, “Let’s talk.” We can discuss what fits before you commit.

If someone comes to mind, please send this directly to them. That introduction could make all the difference.
