In 2018 the Jewish Cemetery in Chișinău, Rep. of Moldova has become the object of "rehabilitation and revitalization" works, realized by the Chișinău City Hall (see City Hall Decision). These works have resulted in complete removal of all vegetation on the cemetery, which, incorrectly conducted, have caused destruction of over 100 memorial gravestones, some of them over a century old. Among these were also the gravestones of the victims of the Chișinău Pogroms in 1903. This irreversible damage, caused by negligence, utter lack of required competence and humanity  has personally affected my family, as well as the whole Jewish Community of Chișinău.
