Dear Supporters, please send your request to info@christies.com to stop selling the painting and return it to Canada. This is what i've just emailed to them. RE: Christie's Sale 15971 Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale 15 May, 2018 Sent to the Christie's Auction House and mass media Dear Christie's Team, can you please advise if you'v heard and read about the public opinion and protest in Canada and worldwide regarding the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, Canada) to sell Marc Chagall's "La Tour de Eiffel" at Christie's on May 15? There are 2 petitions circulating (links are provided below) with 1,000+ supporters. We count already dozens of publications and a radio talk show on CBC. The Chagall's Committee in Paris expressed their frustration through media to the museum management as well. While the officials prefer not to comment and come out with any action, I've decided to address you directly and kindly ask you to remove Slot 7A from the May 15 auction sales. This is a wrong practice to sell a nationwide treasure through an auction and it may only damage the Christie's well-known high reputation and professional ethic, that are definitely more valuable than $ 1.6M of the cancellation fee and any potential commissions. https://www.change.org/.../minister-of-canadian-heritage... https://www.ipetitions.com/.../keep-marc-chagalls... Thank you for your consideration and prompt action. There is only 10 days left and we must act fast! Please do not sell our Chagall and return it where it belongs, to Canada.
