Dear ECP community,  Well, we finally had our hearing at the UK Supreme Court earlier this week. What a milestone, and an achievement! The highest court in the land has now heard why making civil partnerships available to different-sex couples means so much to so many. Thanks to all of you for coming to support us on the day, for your wonderful messages, for digging deep to ensure we could cover our legal costs, and for generally keeping us going. We hope we’ve done you proud.  There was extensive press coverage, and we hope you saw us and the Equal Civil Partnerships campaign team on the Victoria Derbyshire Show on BBC2 or on Sky News: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0b310v3/victoria-derbyshire-14052018 (from 34 minutes into the show) Perhaps you read about the case in The Guardian or The Times: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/may/14/barring-heterosexual-couples-from-civil-partnerships-is-discriminatory-court-told The hearing was shorter than expected, lasting only one day, but our legal team adapted quickly and did a superb job. Thank you to Karon Monaghan QC and Sarah Hannett from Matrix Chambers for articulating our case so well, and to Louise Whitfield, our solicitor at Deighton Pierce Glynn, for her meticulous preparations.  Now, the campaign continues while we wait for judgment. This could take several months, so we must be patient. We will let you know the outcome as soon as we can.  In the meantime, please continue to support the campaign here: http://gofundme.com/ecpcampaigns We will keep you updated if and when there’s news.  Thank you again for standing alongside us and for your steadfast support. Warm wishes,   Rebecca and Charles
