Thank you to all of the people that have signed so far. Awesome! This petition asks for the judicial system to force CPS to follow the current laws that are in place instead of creating new laws where things can be added or taken away from the old laws that are currently fine the way that they currently are. The issue isn't with the way that the law is currently written. The issue is demanding that the current law not be ignored or withheld from the respondent and that the proper forms required to be included with the petition when the respondent is served with the petition. Many CPS cases would more than likely be dismissed and/or the children returned home if the respondent knew that they could file a response to the petition. The judge can only make a decision on how they are going to rule with what evidence they have before them which was filed with the courts. If parents don't file a response, the only thing the judge has as evidence to rule on, is the CPS Caseworkers petition and their statement that they filed with the court. Parents have a right to respond to the allegations against them that are within the petition. Please sign the petition to help parent to be able to exercise their parental rights by forcing CPS to properly inform parents of their parental right to file file a response to the petition.
