'Last Man Standing' Standing for the Grocery Store

To the Dearborn Homes and Associates;

In 2015 Last Man Standing Association (LMSA) social club started by men who have been knowing each other since they were at least 11 or 12 years old who grew up in the Robert Taylor Chicago Public Housing on 53rd and State street in Chicago, IL.. They are now in their late 60’s.

WE are with you!! It is the Last Man Standing Association pleasure to write in support of the Dearborn Homes drive to secure a Grocery Store for the Douglas community targeting Dearborn Homes. As the Last Man Standing based is from the Robert Taylor Homes, we also share the history of being under served and overlooked in the growth of Chicago in parity to others. However, we share the potential growth this State Street Food Cooperative can have for the present and the future of an example of community self-determination with many friends and acquaintances in common.

As about 16 of these men got together to form LMSA, to talk about how our lives have change since living in public housing and the people we have known living in them. Our sponsorship of social and entertainment for the younger people and anyone who wants to better their lives, such as having picnics and social gathering etc, this initiative of Dearborn Homes will be a total compliment of residents coming together. As the last public housing high raise standing, we stand with Dearborn Homes with its landmark status. We are highly impressed by their dedication and integrity to make this happen.

In short, Last Man Standing Association stands with this campaign with unreserved recommendations for all Chicago and Steppers and the Chicago Black Wall Street thoughtful demonstration with the responsibility and respect to lead this effort for this to happen. Please do not hesitate to contact us on the next move in solitary for the food cooperative for our organized pledges.
