Pershing Square design competition semi-finalists exhibition & "Shoes" screening

Dear Friend of Pershing Square,
Have you watched our video of the wonderful 1916 footage of the intact Pershing Square from Lois Weber's restored silent film "Shoes"? This Thursday, you can see it on the big screen, with live orchestra accompaniment and a talk from Weber expert Shelley Stamp. The event is free with reservations required, and we'd love to see you there. For more info, visit http://www.lavatransforms.org/event/shoes/
On April Fool's Day, Pershing Square Renew will announce the winner of its design competition. And later this month, the public will have a chance to review and comment on the work of the ten semi-finalists.
Unfortunately the public is not being given the chance to vote for restoration. However, this is still your opportunity to let the judges know that you support a restored Pershing Square that draws on John Parkinson's classic 1910 design.
What is shown won't be proposals for how the architects would design the park, but more general presentations about each team's "approach and framework." We imagine these will be similar to the "vision boards" exhibited last month, which you can see here: https://www.facebook.com/restorepershingsquare/posts/452017528324283
If you're interested in reviewing the semi-finalist's presentations in person, you can do so at the Downtown locations listed below. There will also be an online option that is live from December 10-13, and as soon as the web address is posted, we'll share it with you.
