Dear Friend of Pershing Square, Yesterday, Pershing Square Renew announced ten semi-finalists for the competition to redesign Pershing Square. Included in the list are many fine firms, each of them with a fresh idea for the park. But restoration--the option favored by the 2069 of you who have signed this petition--did not make the cut selected by the closed-door jury. In a competition that is supposed to reflect the needs and wants of the people of Los Angeles, we think that just isn't right.
