This is going to be a lengthy update. First, just spoke with Manny and he received a letter yesterday from the New York chapter of the Innocence Project and they are working on his case. Yes, GREAT news there. Another step closer to Manny coming home. Second, Manny wanted me to let everyone who receives these updates to know that there are still people out there, "haters" who will say anything to keep him locked up. Whether it's fear or guilt for having helped to put him in their in the first place, these people have ZERO proof of the allegations that they strew about. Anyone can say anything, this is the internet and the U.S. is a free country with free speech. But that does NOT mean that everything you read is true. The "haters" out there are doing their best to cause him harm where he is. Being locked up can be a brutal and terrifying experience and unless you've lived through it, you just don't realize that it can change a man. That's why I included the "EVIDENCE" with this petition, DNA Evidence that proves his innocence in the case of the murder of Angela Wong. I've know this man for over 15 years. The reason I started this petition is that I knew even before the DNA evidence had been released that he was innocent of this crime. I knew he did not and does not have a violent bone in his body. The DNA evidence simply gave his family, friends and me fuel for the fire to get him released. So Manny again wanted to thank everyone who has signed, everyone who sends letters and post cards for their love and support. He's in a dark place, both physically and at times mentally. He wants everyone out there to know he's sorry for any outbursts on the phone. He's been through hell in his 17 years down. Imagine how you'd feel, having gone through all the darkness and danger for 17 years going on 18 for something YOU didn't do. If we can all understand that, and have a little more compassion and patience when any small remark might set him off. That would be so very helpful and he'd be so very grateful for your understanding. Thanks again from me personally as some of the "haters" out there even use my name in some of their negative comments, trying to bring smudges to my reputation. But I'm not afraid, they can point all the fingers they want. I have the EVIDENCE of what I say. And they simply have words. Have an amazing weekend and see you all soon.
