Who hurt James my son? Who hurt Daniel? Dont let providers continue to harm our vulnerable children with no explanations!
The article in the 8th of June 2021 (7News.com by Nick Gibbs) titled “Bruising a Mystery, disability probe told” They note the mother who was told the bruises on her son were acquired unexplained bruises while living in disability housing. Let me explain these unexplained bruises – it is so typical of what our disability children/adult children have to go through all their lives.
The words were spoken when James came home with bruises – it’s a mystery they said, oh we have investigated our own organization and found nothing (asked the workers did you do it, no, did you do it? No. Did you do it? No. ) They found nothing - it is unexplained. It is a phenomenon it is X-files, these unexplained bruises….son or daughter goes to program or respite or accommodation and comes home with bruises that are unexplained. Maybe an alien did it.
Of course the policy of all disability organizations is no abuse, not hurting the clients, and mandatory reporting yet none of that is carried out truthfully.
How pathetic and stupid the lies sound. It’s a mystery. The bruises are unexplained. How about someone starts doing the explaining instead of playing dumb? Because they are so dumb don’t they know it will come back on them one day? Lets just keep playing dumb and pretend we know nothing.
Finding how who is carrying a virus is more important than finding out who the criminal is that hurt my son or that other mother’s son or daughter. Why don’t we contact trace all those who hurt our children?
We make people criminals for accidently catching a virus the government let into the country through overseas travellers and the government then systematically starts making everyone feel guilty and pushes them to comply. Yet a vulnerable person is assaulted in a providers care or hurt and they does not matter, there is something wrong in this society. The devious government and the devious disability services who are self serving for the money they can get. Providers rich with the money of those who have little to look forward to with their disability preventing them from enjoying all the privileges most others have in our world.
The unexplained bruises on this boy from Adelaide, Daniel Rogers occurred in 2019 – that was a bad year I think the same year my son got his first devastating injury. Daniels bruise stretched from his back to his kidney. His parents took him home from the disability place where he used to live and when they mentioned the disability accommodation to him, he would get distressed and hit his head. Daniel is 40 years old and live with autism, epilepsy, and intellectual disability.
The officers visited the former disability home and interviewed staff but could not take the matter further. No evidence I guess, no cameras…cant do anything. Incident management unit never sought to interview Ms Rogers or her son. A year later she sought a meeting with the unit’s director who noted the self investigation was inconclusive and was unable to provide a copy of the report to her. Staff believe it happened outside the house. Of course they do.
Now Daniel is very happy at home but reacts negatively to anything to do with the disability home. He is traumatized. But everyone ignores that. Maybe if he was a celebrity or rich or had a famous father maybe then they the justice system, would listen because money talks.
Is this the lot of those with disabilities ? Will we continue to let the defenceless and vulnerable have no, protection no defense, no justice? Unless we act nothing will change.
We cannot let this continue. WE must bring change and reform to disabilities. We must keep pushing for mandatory cameras in disabilities. You treat others how you wanted to be treated. Not many of us want to be repeatedly hit or punched or left to drown. Who would want to go through that? Then why let them go through it? Our own children can be targets at any time if we do not have mandatory cameras made law in this land. Or more will die and more will be harmed with little no justice at all. More mothers will be broken as they said their children badly treated by providers who cover their tracks and usher in more vulnerable with disabilities to then hurt them the same way. How dare they!
That is my explanation of the bruises that were unexplained and will continue to be unexplained by organizations who say they care but do not. WE will make them care, yes we will the parents must rise up. The disability organizations with their arrogant managers and CEOs, will not go untouched from what they do to those who cannot defend themselves for they, our dear innocent ones, deserve better than that. Much better than that.
