I just saw an article that explained that Michael Crider, the writer of this article, will pay for YouTube Premium, if there was a toggle for the AI slop. He also stated that he couldn't tolerate the Al slop and believes that YouTube is getting worse and he also states that YouTube Shorts is overoccupied with AI slop content that is made with no effort and is unfortunately illegally copied content. He also states that the YouTube content creators are getting upset with scrambling to chase after many factors to be able to be monetized including categories, upload schedules, and other factors should the broken element being the administrative part of YouTube's algorithim not put the creators down but then had to go through the AI filters that can put negative impacts on the creators' views. He also states that YouTube is becoming a bigger mess with many different moves that Google decides to do.
I believe YouTube and Google need to add an AI slop toggle or say that we are better off making content creators and viewers happy if they can start limiting the use of AI including for age verification and creating content. That means they need to stop relying solely on AI-generated content because creators will have a harder time becoming successful including to those who are planning to be monetized. That will also make Michael Crider enjoy using YouTube without all the AI-slop hurdles that I think we are all going through right now.
I strongly encourage everyone including content creators to sign this petition to encourage Google and YouTube to add an AI slop toggle and make sure YouTube becomes a happy place for content creators and viewers without relying solely on using AI. If we can get our signatures up to 100,000, it will make the encouragement to have YouTube become a happy place without all the AI-slop hurdles easier to do. We will not give up! We got this!
