Thank you to everyone who has signed this petition and refused to look away. Right now, in Tennessee, animal abuse laws are weak, inconsistently(rarely) enforced and abusers face little to no real consequences — that reality emboldens cruelty. When laws are inadequate and enforcement is optional, abuse continues. Animals suffer. And the people responsible walk free. I am actively working behind the scenes with Tennessee government officials to close the loopholes that allow animal abuse to go unpunished. This effort is about accountability and it is about making it impossible for cruelty to be ignored, minimized, or excused. Tennessee will not be a safe haven for animal abusers.
