Garner Town Council plans to have a final vote on the rezoning and annexation requests submitted by SLI Capital and McAdams Co (developers) to turn the Par Golf land into a high density rental unit development and bring it into Garner's jurisdiction. This final vote is planned for NEXT WEEK on Tuesday, January 16th at 6PM in the Town Hall.

We need 3 out of 5 Councilmembers to vote "NO" and shut down this plan once and for all. Planning Commission unanimously voted "NO" in November 2023, which is an unprecedented win- but the final vote still lies with Council, and we're not sure what will happen. We're organizing public comments from the surrounding community.

Please show up in person and show your support for the Councilmembers to vote "NO". The more people, the better. After 2 years of fighting, we're nearing the finish line! If you plan to attend, please fill out this Google Form.  Tell your friends!

Par Golf was forced to shut down 375 days ago on December 31, 2022. Their requests to continue month-to-month were denied by the developer, and now the land has sat squalid for 375 days with dozens of prior employees missing their jobs. Let's stand up for our community and ask for this land to continue being used for public recreation.

In support and solidarity,

Ally Kristan
