The petition count is now 1,659. We have got to the stage now where IF everyone got another person to sign the number would immediately rocket to 3,318. The threshold to force a full council debate is only 4,000. This would expose the council to the scrutiny of ALL 60 councillors. Just imagine if some of you got two extra people to sign!! Please use your email address books to ask even more people to sign. i) children aged 11 - 17 can sign if they state their age. All the family can sign and of course ask cousins etc too. Just ensure minors have parental permission to do so. ii) comments are not essential but very useful if they illustrate the wide range of users affected by this flawed and locally unconsulted plan - ie) swimmers, disabled & less abled users, school users, senior citizens, parent and toddler users, scuba diving club users, high board diving public session users (especially the many youth users), track and field athletics users, gymnasium users such as martial arts, dance classes, fitness classes etc. iii) people who live, work or study in the borough are an absolute priority to ask because they vote in ward councillor elections. They will be doing so in the May General Election too which ensures MPs and their challengers across the 3 Waltham Forest constituencies will take note. iv) signatures from people living further afield are of course more than welcome because this council and GLL are very uncomfortable having the mis-management of this flawed and unconsulted £23m project so widely and visibly exposed to the wider world. Thanks again to all of you who have signed over the last 2 weeks. You have helped get the Planning vote deferred until March which gives us more time to increase the pressure on the council and GLL to properly consult all user groups and residents.
