We want to highlight a significant concern regarding potential conflicts of interest within Salt + Light Works’ leadership. CEO Mary Adrianne Hillman’s husband, Scot Hillman, currently serves on the Board of Directors. This relationship raises serious questions about the impartiality of any internal review conducted by the organization.

Therefore, we are renewing our call for a full, independent third-party investigation—outside of the current board and leadership structure—to ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability.

We encourage the involvement of independent regulatory agencies such as:

California Civil Rights Department (formerly DFEH)

Internal Revenue Service – Exempt Organizations Division
