Once again I would like to share a letter I received today from one of our soldiers on the battlefield a LHS teacher. I want you to share this with as many individuals as you can. Lets tell our community what is happening in our schools that is not being heard. : October 10, 2016 We have many students African American male and female who tend to try and spark racial discord in many of our classes. Then we have the added bonus of female black or African American assistant principals who when called upon do not try and direct these young women into a more respectful or studious direction. Those two things respectful and studious go hand in hand. These assistant principals are former teachers who most of the time either didn't or couldn't teach, thus were moved out of the classroom and given a radio and a title. This is who is in charge of directing or redirecting our children, our future. Wake up LISD! We can't improve if we have individuals poisoning the minds of our students. Administration needs to wake up and realize the people that you place in these positions couldn't handle their teaching positions with out causing issues. Why on earth would you place them into a position of authority? I know we have slackers of all races, backgrounds and "professional" levels but these stand out in this school. Students know if they are called down that these 2 or 3 individuals will come to their rescue and cover for them. This creates frustration and further discord between the students and teacher. Everyone in that class room is losing educational content. We have got to get people in these positions who will back our teachers. I invite any and all administration to visit this school and witness these problems as they snowball week to week. We can't hold these students responsible until administration takes responsibility. People of Longview WAKE UP!!!
