Hi everyone.
Thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

I keep crying and wishing I’d done more. I feel like I let him down. He was only 5 minutes away. I did mention once that my nan would take him, but nothing came of that.

I had taken Levy out with other dogs in my care while the owner was away last year. So I’d got to know him. He was so bright, he had so much potential! He was young, smart and lively. He had some manners to learn but he did so well with all the other dogs. And you could tell he loved getting out. After his time ended, I even took him out for free on days I had the space.
But, he hadn’t been castrated and he pee’d in the van a lot. Some of the other dogs didn’t take kindly to a younger intact male, and so ultimately, my clients had to come first.
But, I still saw him now and then until the kids got taken away. Then I hoped I could leave it in the hands of the RSPCA.

I’m so sorry Lev.
The amount of people and officials that went in that house.
It’s simple really, if the kids aren’t fed, cared for properly, or safe… the dog/pets certainly won’t be.

The UK population stands at around 68 million.
There are now 34 million pets in the UK including 13 million dogs (33% of households)and 11 million cats, 3.2 million small mammals such as guinea pigs and hamsters. Overall, 51% of UK adults own a pet of any type. Rabbits being the MOST NEGLECTED. It’s about time more was done.  Penalties followed through, more animal education, more welfare officers, mandatory online courses!? Breeding license? Bring back the dog license!? Anything would be a start

“The Animal Welfare Act 2006 is the primary law in the UK concerning animal welfare, protecting vertebrate animals. It places a duty of care on owners and keepers to ensure animals' needs are met, including having a suitable environment and diet, exhibiting normal behavior, and being protected from pain, suffering, injury, and disease. The Act also prohibits cruelty and animal fighting, with increased penalties for these offences.”
