VICTORY IN BATTLE ONE AGAINST BUDDHA BAR

Many thanks to supporters who signed the petition against nightclub nightmares in Tribeca -- and who turned out for Community Board 1's Tribeca Committee hearing! The Committee unanimously rejected Buddha Bar's liquor license application on April 13. (Link to coverage of the hearing attached.) All the members of Community Board 1 will vote on the license on TUESDAY, APRIL 26 at 6 P.M. at the Governors Island Ferry Terminal (Waiting Room), 10 South Street. Showing up will underscore how serious residents are about protecting the quality of life in Tribeca. Even if the full Community Board rejects the application, the State Liquor Authority can still approve it. It's up to us to lobby against SLA approval via our city and state legislators.
