Blessings! Yesterday, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar stated that she is waiting on CARICOM to state its position on marijuana before she makes a decision on decriminalisation. It has been more than a year since CARICOM convened the marijuana commission. Meanwhile, cannabis companies are trading on the US Stock Exchange, and Israel is set to enter the medical marijuana market. Back in the Caribbean, our law enforcement agencies are burning down fields of ganja, and arresting our citizens. CARICOM needs to legalise ganja in all members states and help set up a regional ganja industry to cope with the economic crisis facing us all.
