I've also been looking into the meaning of the River.. Its called the Colne. Colne Valley. People don't often think of this, but the word Cone, is actually CONE shape, as a Traffic cone.

This is a combination of Cone & Naught. Naught = O and a cone shape has a O structure at one end. with an Elongation or "bridge" to another point. I think the River Colne (CONE) is named as to further reference the liberty caps natural cone shape. The fact also you have 2 points.... The O shape "naught" at the base and a projected point from that base. a bridge if to say.. to form the Cone. I think that the presence of two or more hillforts or bases is worth mentioning in relation to this.
All the aforementioned is mostly subjective evidence, but we must acknowledge political motivations and events that occur through time & as these events unfold. Looking back gives us a window into events & the happenings around that, circumstantial.
