The keen-eyed amongst you may have seen an article in the current addition of The Surrey Advertiser/Woking Advertiser about our Keep the Blanche Heriot Unit Open campaign. http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/sexual-health-unit-lifeline-patients-12887563 Our personal stories as patients can help raise awareness and get the message across to the decision makers (Surrey County Council and NHS England South) that the Blanche Heriot Unit is too precious a service to be dismantled by the new, remote provider. To date, Central & North West London NHS Trust (CNWL) have not given any details as to how they propose to maintain the Level 3 Consultant-led service currently provided at the Blanche Heriot Unit. All that CNWL have said, in response to the local press, is that “More details will be available as discussion progresses for the September relaunch”. But there has been NO discussion with the patients, NOR any commitment to formal consultation when plans affecting the Blanche Heriot Unit are eventually put forward.
