BIG News. BIG Changes.
Kano’s Law is changing. It’s becoming BIGGER to better address the crisis companion animal welfare is facing in this country. I am so proud of the amazing outpour of support we’ve received, but while reexamining Kano’s Law, I recognized that focusing solely on custody just wasn’t enough. Our judicial system fails our pets in every aspect of welfare, not just custody, so it was time to think BIGGER.
So, what’s changing? Kano’s Law will be incorporated into The P.A.W.S. Doctrine, or The Provisions for Animal Welfare Standards Doctrine. The P.A.W.S. Doctrine is a federal legislative reform proposal I created that both redefines companion animals, or pets, as valued family members & establishes crucial legal protections for both pets and their guardians. As a comprehensive legislative reform bill, The P.A.W.S. Doctrine aims to address all aspects of welfare relating to our pets, including: custody & estate disputes, malpractice, standards of care, guardianship rights, etc.
In partnership with The PET Movement, we will advocate for BIG change in this country. REAL change. Change that will better protect pet guardians and our companion animals. The official website is now LIVE: thepawsdoctrine.org
The P.A.W.S. Doctrine bill is currently being reviewed and edited by my team & will be posted on December 10th in honor of International Animal Rights Day. It will ONLY be posted on my official website: thepawsdoctrine.org
I hope that when The P.A.W.S. Doctrine becomes available to view, you will read it carefully and add your signature in support. I can’t do this without you. Together, let's send a clear message to Congress:
