I had hoped to have a happy update for you all regarding Kano’s custody during the appeal process.  Instead, we received devastating news last week.  We were not granted the motion for stay, and Kano will be returned to the family who had abandoned, neglected, and abused him this week.  Our hearts are broken, not only because the loss of Kano will be sorely felt, but we grieve for Kano and what this loss means for him.  

While we have suffered a loss, we are not giving up. We are moving forward with the appeal and are hopeful the original decision will be overturned.  We appreciate your well-wishes and positive thoughts at this time.
