Hi K9 Mattie supporters! Many of you have asked us for assistance in composing emails to the corporate bosses who took Mattie away. Here is Séamus on that:
One of the most effective tools we have for getting through to those who took Mattie from us, and one which a great number of you have expressed enthusiasm for, is contacting the corporate bosses directly. Many of you have already done so, so many others have reached out to us for help with what to say.
If you fall into this category, I am sharing with you the following emails as model messages that you can utilize because are well written and sufficiently generic. They are all real messages that supporters have forwarded to us (edited for spelling and mechanics, with personal info taken out). Of course, feel free to adapt the notes to your own unique voice and writing style. If you add stories of your own dogs/pets, that could add an impactful personal touch.
My general advice is to start with a list of your points, then connect them together in a narrative form. Make sure the logic of your points flows coherently, check for grammar and spelling errors, and most importantly, speak from the heart. And once you start writing, you might find yourself getting inspired.
The points brought up here are by no means comprehensive, but they are excellent for getting the ball rolling.

Sample email 1:
Gentlemen,
I am writing in support of returning K-9 Mattie to her handler and his family. The family petitioned your company on change.org and has to date over 220,000 signatures in support of returning Mattie to them. The family is not capable of paying the exorbitant $20,000 cost of the dog and is now raising money from the public.
Your company already received a very nice profit on investment that it made by training and providing for this dog. I am urging you to take this into consideration and let Mattie go immediately without asking the family for money. She has suffered a lot from this separation. It is time for simple gratitude to someone who faithfully and selflessly served your company for many years. Mattie has already lived most of her expected life. Let her live her remaining years with the family who loves her.
Your consent to let Mattie go now will be greatly appreciated by many thousands of Mattie's supporters. Thank you very much for your anticipated kindness and generosity.

Gentlemen,
I do not understand how you, in any good conscience, could separate and keep separate the bonded pair of K9 Mattie and her friend/daddy Seamus Fennessy.
To separate a bonded pair like Seamus and Mattie is akin to separating a parent from a much beloved child. The anguish, tears, and mental torture of tearing the family apart which the family endures is a living hell.
At any rate, by not allowing K9 Mattie to be reunited with her human family, you are causing irreparable harm to Seamus' entire family as well as to Mattie. I would not be surprised if Seamus did not develop PTSD due to your actions. I wonder if Seamus and his family have thought to take action against you for pain and suffering due to work-place policies? I personally would be willing to donate to that civil action if they were to do so. I am sure that many of my friends who are animal lovers and advocates would donate to the cause. And they also have contacts and friends.
Please show your humane side to the family and the world at large by allowing Seamus to be reunited with Mattie. We would all be grateful if you did.
Feel free to contact me should you have any questions regarding my thoughts on this issue. My contact information is below.

Sample email 3:
Good evening, I am writing you as I have become aware of the plight of Mattie’s family. I have often been amazed at the lengths people and companies will go to in order to stop the right thing from happening. I do believe that situations like Mattie getting taken from her family have more to do with egos than the monetary bottom line or common sense. I would suggest to Mattie's family to have your company investigated by local and international media. We are living in a time where companies such as yours should be followed by public scrutiny.
I suggest doing the right thing by returning an elderly dog to her family would also go a long way to increase your public image, which at this point is very sadly tarnished.
Sincerely,
