Amena and baby are not doing well and their situation is worsening. Amena is suffering from trauma, shock and depression and her son has become ill with a high fever. Amena is fearful of taking her child to the doctor due to the constant threat of persecution. They remain in hiding in different locations around Kabul. In response to a CTV news inquiry, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) indicated that Amena must make her asylum claim in India, but it is a place she is unable to go. This is a disheartening statement since IRCC has received all relevant documents proving that Amena and her child's visa to India were denied. The family is pleading for help and requesting that IRCC or the Canadian Government write a formal letter to the Indian Embassy in Afghanistan indicating the date and time of the IRCC interview and requesting that they be granted a visa to India.
