Hey Everyone!

It’s been a while since my last update but I wanted to keep everyone in the loop!

I have recently teamed up with Oceana Canada in an effort to end the cruel shark fin trade in Canada.

In the spring of 2018, Bill S-238 to ban the sale and trade of shark fins in our country was unanimously passed by the Senate Fisheries committee. Now the House of Commons needs to pass the Bill so that it can become a law.

It is so important that this be done at a federal level because it gives our provincial and municipal governments guidelines to follow; guidelines that they may not have jurisdiction to implement themselves. Your support is paramount to making sure this happens!

As for my petition targeting municipal authorities to prohibit the sale and trade of shark fin in Delta:

I have not given up! My petition is still up and running and I still encourage you to share it if you haven’t done so already. Two days ago, we had our local election. I am very happy with the results and am planning to send my proposal to what I am confident will be a receptive mayor and council.
