When I took this photo of my darling Jess, at the age of four, I never imagined we would be where we are today. Losing Jess to cancer at the age of 27, so suddenly and expectedly, was not a consideration. As her mother, I thought I was doing everything I could to ensure she lived a long, healthy life.

How wrong my assumptions were.

Yet, Jess' partner, family and friends are not alone this Christmas. Countless young lives have been lost - some tragically in the last few months.. For too many of us, this festive season will be incredibly painful.

Thank you again for your continued support. Please, do one thing this week, show this petition to someone new and encourage them to sign and share it. We need to continue to push for change and perhaps next year, or in the next decade, some young lives will have been saved, not lost. Early diagnosis is essential and this begins with our GPs. We need government to facilitate the necessary changes to make this possible.

Jess loved Christmas, I hope we can spread this important message for her.
