Hello. I wanted to say, yet again, thank you for your continued support and the positive impact you are making.

I wanted to let you know about a positive response we received from The Department of Health and Social Care, via our MP.

In a letter from Jo Churchill reference is made "to transforming cancer care and outcomes for all people living with cancer, including those with rare and difficult-to-diagnose cancers." It continues to state that "the focus needs to be on research and innovation, and ensuring that proven
innovations, once discovered, are adopted swiftly across the health service."

The letter mentions "rolling out Rapid Diagnostic Centres (RDCs) across the country to bring together the latest diagnostic equipment and expertise" There were 12 in March of 2020 and 45 six months later.  A further roll out is planned.

Jo Churchill talks about the "Help Us Help You" campaign and a commitment to lowering the threshold of referral times for GPs.

Of course, this is all good news but we still need to ensure this petition is debated in parliament to stress the importance of:

Ring-fencing GP funds.

Referring ALL patients with urgency.

Increased funding for specialist staff training and equipment.

Campaigns to increase awareness of cancer in people in their 20's,30's and 40's.

An increase in safe face to face consultations.

We continue to communicate with our MP highlighting the current postcode lottery with access to diagnosis and treatment and the need for heightened communication and responsibility within GP practices, reviewing patient symptoms and referrals.

Please do consider writing a brief letter to you MP highlighting this petition.

Working together we can do this.

Thank you.
